Some time ago, Oracle closed source Solaris, and stopped to send changes to the OpenSolaris. This decision angered many developers, including some employees of Oracle. Apparently, one of them broke the corporate discipline and laid out in the open access kernel source Solaris 11, so that developers open source project OpenIndiana (fork OpenSolaris) can see what changes were made in the core, to ensure compatibility with the ZFS file system, etc.
True, use the code snippets in my projects is impossible, while Oracle does not officially publish them under a free license CDDL. Who knows, maybe Oracle specially organized this “leak”, then to sue the organization Illumos Foundation, which develops OpenIndiana.
